Anime / GachaWuthering Waves: Dania — Should You Pull, and How to Build Her
Dania is the rare banner where the honest answer depends on your account. She is a T0-tier dual-form sub-DPS, but in practice she is the system core for two archetypes — Fusion Burst and Tune Strain — and an unremarkable off-field damage dealer for everyone else. What she brings to either is fast Concerto Energy generation, frequent crowd-pulling, and reliable application of the debuff her team is built around, with very little execution demanded. This guide covers whether she is worth your Astrite, which weapon and Echo setup to run, and how the two-form loop actually plays.

Two Forms, Two Gauges, One Loop
Dania operates in two states. Stagecraft Form is her default; Resonance Liberation Final Act - Stagecraft Form switches her into Breakdown Form and grants Entropy Shift: Breakdown Form, raising ATK by 30% for 12 seconds. Pacing is identical between forms, but multipliers differ and several skill states only exist inside Breakdown Form.
Her Forte Circuit runs on two gauges. Void Particle caps at 100: Basic Attacks in Stagecraft Form grant a small amount, the Intro Skill grants 25, and Phantom Bubble - Stagecraft Form grants 25. The Inherent Skill Vestiges of Falsehood adds 1 per second and tops her up on entry — fewer than 2 Dark Cores restores to 2, less than 20 Void Particle restores to 20, once every 12 seconds. In Breakdown Form with Void Particle above zero, Basic Attacks consume it for two effects: damage counts as Resonance Liberation DMG with the multiplier raised by 50%, and Conformal Charge regenerates 100% faster.
Conformal Charge also caps at 100, built by Basic Attacks or Beckon - Breakdown Form in Breakdown Form; the second stage of Banish - Breakdown Form grants 40 at once. When full, Dania spends all of it plus all Void Particle on Final Act - Breakdown Form, dealing Fusion DMG, generating her Erosion Field, and returning to Stagecraft Form with Entropy Shift: Stagecraft Form for 30 seconds, which grants 1 Void Particle per second. Both Liberations can be cast mid-air, and each Entropy Shift buff removes the other.
Dark Core is her special resource, capped at 3 and shown as diamonds under the Forte gauge. She gains one every 12 seconds while either Entropy Shift buff is active, and one from either Intro Skill — It's Been A While! in Stagecraft Form, Knock Knock in Breakdown Form. Holding at least one core replaces Beckon - Breakdown Form with Banish - Breakdown Form, whose second stage consumes every core and raises the DMG multiplier by 150% per core consumed. That damage counts as Resonance Liberation DMG, and the skill shares a cooldown with Beckon.
Final Act - Breakdown Form also generates an Erosion Field for 30 seconds. It strikes once every 4 seconds, pulling nearby targets in and dealing Fusion DMG that counts as Resonance Liberation DMG.
Pull Value: S0 R1 or S6 R5
The recommendation is blunt: S0 with one copy of her signature weapon, or S6 with the signature at R5. Sequence 0 already functions as a complete team piece, because nearly all of her value sits in buffs and debuff application rather than her own damage. Partial investment past that returns the least per pull; only the top end changes how she feels.
Her Resonance Mode matters as much as her Sequence. In Resonance Mode - Fusion Burst, her Intro Skills, Basic Attack stages 3 and 4, both Liberations, and the Erosion Field inflict Fusion Burst, limited to one application per skill every 2 seconds. When Fusion Burst stacks max out and detonate, Dania gains Degenerate Voidmatter, up to 5 stacks; the next Erosion Field strike with stacks banked has its DMG multiplier raised by 100% and consumes one stack on hit.
In Resonance Mode - Tune Strain, those same skills inflict Tune Strain - Shifting and refresh Tune Strain - Interfered instead. Whenever a teammate inflicts Tune Strain - Shifting, the target accumulates Off-Tune Level equal to 50% of its maximum, once per target every 300 seconds. Refreshing Tune Strain - Interfered accelerates that accumulation and is what actually drives a Tune Strain team's damage.
Both modes feed the Inherent Skill Etched Colors while any Entropy Shift buff is up. In Fusion Burst it gives the whole team 30% Fusion DMG Bonus. In Tune Strain it grants a flat 10 Tune Break Boost, scaling as high as 50 depending on how efficiently the team accumulates Off-Tune Level — Mornye's resonance field is the benchmark example.
Weapons: One Signature, Two Acceptable Stand-Ins
Forged Dwarf Star is her signature and the only weapon giving full stat conversion on her kit. Stringmaster and Luminous Hymn match its base ATK and Crit Rate, which is why they are the two named alternatives. Every other weapon costs her stats somewhere and is not worth considering.
The list is short on purpose. Dania scales on Crit Rate and Resonance Liberation DMG, and her signature does double duty by buffing team ATK whenever Fusion Burst or Tune Strain - Shifting is applied, so substitutes that only pad her personal damage lose more than a raw stat comparison suggests.
Echoes, Main Stats, and Target Panels
Recommended Sonata sets, in order: Chromatic Foam 5-piece first, then Reel of Spliced Memories, Flaming Clawprint, and Moonlit Clouds as secondary options. Molten Rift is not recommended.
The cost pattern is 4 / 3 / 3 / 1 / 1. The 4-cost runs Crit Rate, using Reminiscence: Dania or Reactor Husk. The two 3-costs run ATK or Fusion DMG Bonus and Energy Regen, and both 1-costs run ATK. Substat priority: Crit Rate ≥ Crit DMG > ATK > Resonance Liberation DMG > Basic Attack DMG > Resonance Skill DMG > Heavy Attack DMG.
Two thresholds define a finished build. Crit Rate should reach 100% — 36% from Forged Dwarf Star or Stringmaster, 22% from the 4-cost main stat, 37% from Echo substats, 5% base. Energy Regen above 130% avoids a clunky rotation; above 140% is comfortable. A reference endgame panel is ATK 2400, Crit Rate ≥ 100%, Crit DMG ≥ 241% (including the 16% from her skill tree), and Energy Regen above 140%.
Her damage is dominated by Fusion DMG and Resonance Liberation DMG, with Basic Attack next. Skill upgrade order is Resonance Liberation > Forte Circuit > Basic Attack > Resonance Skill > Intro Skill. One warning on cost: a brand-new Echo set is expected to consume more than 2,500 tuners, not counting what you recycle from your inventory. Build her last if your tuner stock is thin.
Teams by Resonance Mode
For a Tune Strain team built around Tune Break damage, run Luuk Herssen in slot one and Mornye in slot three. For a Fusion Burst team, run Aemeath in slot one with a healer in slot three — Verina, The Shorekeeper, or Chisa, though Chisa's rotation runs longer. For a Fusion damage team, slot Lupa at three and Brant at two.
There is also a flexible option: set Dania to Resonance Mode - Tune Strain with Moonlit Clouds, Reel of Spliced Memories, or Flaming Clawprint, and she mixes into otherwise unrelated compositions as a generic buffer.
Rotation
Two loops cover almost everything. Both assume Chromatic Foam 5-piece as the reference set.
Loop one — open on another character. Run a teammate's setup, then swap Dania in with her Intro Skill. Cast Phantom Bubble - Stagecraft Form, Basic Attack until Void Particle hits 100, then Final Act - Stagecraft Form into Breakdown Form. Tap twice for Banish - Breakdown Form, loop Basic Attacks and Resonance Skill until Conformal Charge hits 100, then cast Final Act - Breakdown Form. Basic Attack if you still need Concerto Energy, use your Echo skill, swap out.
Loop two — start on Dania. Basic Attack once to trigger Vestiges of Falsehood for Dark Cores, cast Phantom Bubble - Stagecraft Form, then immediately Final Act - Stagecraft Form into Breakdown Form. Tap Beckon - Breakdown Form once and swap to your healer for their setup. Re-enter with the Intro Skill for 25 Void Particle, tap twice for Banish - Breakdown Form, build Conformal Charge to 100, and cast Final Act - Breakdown Form to summon the Erosion Field. Then Basic Attack and Phantom Bubble - Stagecraft Form until Concerto Energy reaches about 80, cast Final Act - Stagecraft Form, use your Echo skill, and swap.
Two refinements worth drilling. During the Final Act - Stagecraft Form animation you can pre-input a Heavy Attack or a Resonance Skill, and Breakdown Form's Heavy Attack pulls enemies together. After a successful Dodge Counter, manually follow with Basic Attack stage 4 to farm Concerto Energy and apply Fusion Burst or Tune Strain - Shifting.
Who Should Pull
Pull Dania if you already run Aemeath or Luuk Herssen and your supports are stretched thin — she completes both archetypes at once, with one of the most forgiving rotations in the game.
Skip or delay her if no Fusion or Spectro carry on your account drives Fusion Burst or Tune Strain. Outside those two systems her buffs do very little, and what remains is an expensive off-field damage dealer behind a long Echo farm. She is a force multiplier for two specific teams, not a universal support.
